Fernando Aquino Board of Director
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina,I spent the early years of my life in various neighborhoods of greater Buenos Aires, including Villa Fiorito, Merlo, and Morón. These formative experiences in Argentina’s vibrant and diverse culture greatly shaped my perspective and passion for food.
At the age of 30, I made the bold decision to move to the United States, settling in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2000. It was a pivotal moment in my life, one that opened doors to new opportunities and allowed me to continue pursuing my lifelong passion for cooking.
With 38 years of experience in the culinary field, I have dedicated my life to the art of cooking. My career began in Argentina, where I honed my skills and developed a deep love for the flavors and techniques of traditional Argentine cuisine. Upon moving to the United States, I worked tirelessly to adapt to new culinary environments, learning and evolving with every challenge.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked in a variety of kitchens, from local restaurants to high-end dining establishments, always striving to create dishes that honor my heritage while embracing new influences. My work as a chef has been both a personal journey and a way to connect with people through the universal language of food.
As I reflect on my life and career, I am proud of how far I’ve come and the lessons I’ve learned. Cooking has been a constant source of joy, fulfillment, and connection, and I look forward to continuing my culinary journey for many years to come.
I’m part of the Fundación Casa Argentina. I’m going to do my best to show other cultures about our roots, food, our music which we carry with pride and honor to be an Argentinean.
